TOKYO, Nov. 20 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks fell Friday morning as worries deepened over the rising number of COVID-19 cases across the world and the negative impact of the pandemic on economic and business activity.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average decreased 167.65 points, or 0.65 percent, from Thursday to 25,466.69.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, shed 4.29 points, or 0.25 percent, at 1,722.12.
Insurance, pulp and paper, and air transportation issues comprised those that decreased the most by the morning break.
